The goal of the Organization Committee is to provide direction and encourage involvement in the Olympia Downtown Association.
Objectives
Stabilize and increase funding
Activities:
- Develop budget and budgetary procedures
- Continue to enhance Downtown Fall Ball fundraiser
- Maximize Main Street Tax Credit Incentive program contributions
- Revamp membership campaign
- City contract
- Grants
- Sponsorships
Increase overall community involvement
Activities:
- Develop list of potential partners and make available to committees
Improve communication with stakeholders
Activities:
- Existing: Website, newsletter, Quarterly Meetings, Annual Meeting, email alerts
- New ideas: (As staffing permits) Add weekly email updates (e.g. Wenatchee example), use Olympian calendar, partner with other organizations
Increase awareness about the organization
Activities:
- Develop a PowerPoint presentation to use at civic group meetings, etc
- Put together a short list of talking points about ODA
Projects
- Market a positive image of downtown
- Develop a facilitated strategic plan
- Revisit membership chairs
- Continue to nurture the revamped membership campaign
- Revamp membership brochure
- Maximize Main Street Tax Incentive program
- Create a carefully crafted, educational survey
- Create membership one-sheet that lists ODA’s accomplishments
- Add mentoring program for board members
- Continue to pursue grants
- Continue to build up cash reserves
- Create strategic plan
