YMCA – In Need of Volunteers
The YMCA is experiencing a volunteer draught! The 64th Washington Youth Legislature is just ONE MONTH away and there are still 30 students who currently have nowhere to stay.
Delegates would be happy to stay in a guesthouse, spare room or rec room. They are happy to share a queen or full-sized bed, or bring a sleeping bag for the floor. The alternative is the gym floor at the local Y so anything you could offer would be much appreciated!
This year’s event is May 4 to 7, 2011. If you are willing to volunteer please contact the Youth & Government office today! You can also find the volunteer packet online.
Business Tips
Traffic Building Promotions
Is your store getting enough daily traffic? Are you seeing any new faces? If not, it is time to try some traffic builders.
Bring a friend card. Give customers a business sized card that says each time they bring a friend they get their card punched. When punched, say 10 times, the customer receives 20% off their next purchase.
Excerpt from Traffic Building Promotions by Barbara Wold, International Speaker, Author and Business Strategist. For more business tips see future editions of This Week in Downtown.
